Important Notes
Different operating temperatures, room temperatures, storage conditions, additive levels, and production methods may influence melting, cooling, and foaming performance. Following the recommended processing and storage conditions will help achieve the best results.
1. Storage Conditions
Store in a cool, dry place and keep sealed after opening to minimize moisture absorption. Recommended storage temperature is 20–22°C (68–72°F). Because the base contains moisturizers, it readily absorbs moisture from the air — if exposed to a warm or humid environment without proper sealing, the surface may develop a film of "sweating." Keeping the product properly sealed helps prevent this.
2. Melting Instructions
For home DIY use (microwave): Cut the base into small cubes for faster, more even melting. Heat until fully melted — a working temperature of 85–90°C (185–194°F) is recommended. Add fragrance oils, essential oils, colorants, or other additives within 1–2 minutes of full melt, then pour into the mold promptly.
For small-scale production (double boiler): Use a water bath for more even heating at the same 85–90°C (185–194°F) range, which also reduces the chance of a surface film forming. Add additives within 1–2 minutes of full melt, then pour promptly.
3. Adding Fragrance & Color
Add fragrance oils, essential oils, colorants, or other additives only after the base has completely melted. Mix thoroughly and pour into molds promptly. Adding excessive fragrance or essential oil may reduce the finished soap's foaming performance — always use the recommended dosage.
4. Pouring & Cooling
Pour the melted soap into molds immediately after mixing and allow it to cool naturally at room temperature (20–22°C / 68–72°F is recommended). If the surrounding temperature is too low during melting, a thin film may form on the surface, making it harder to incorporate oils and other ingredients. Avoid placing the soap in a hot or humid environment while cooling.
5. Storage After Making Soap
Once the soap has completely hardened, wrap or seal it as soon as possible. Store the finished soap in a cool, dry place at approximately 20–22°C (68–72°F). Proper sealing helps reduce moisture absorption and minimize surface sweating.
6. Tips for Better Foaming
Wet the soap thoroughly before use, then rub it between your hands or on a sponge for several seconds to build a rich lather. Water quality, usage method, and additive levels can all affect foaming performance.
After the soap base is fully melted, it is recommended to add fragrance, essential oils, colorants, or other additives and pour into the mold within 1–2 minutes to achieve the best processing results.
